Fr Mark Raper SJ, of Melbourne, was President of Catholic Religious Australia from July 2006 - July 2008 while he was Australian Provincial of the Jesuits (Society of Jesus). His term ended on July 31.  By then, the new Jesuit Superior General, Fr Adolfo Nicolas SJ, had appointed Fr Raper the President of the Jesuit Conference of East Asia and Oceania (JCEAO), the position Fr Nicolas, himself, held until his election as Father General on January 19, 2008.  Fr Raper is now based in Manila.
