ASSEMBLY 2010: Commitment to ecology and the following of Jesus

The programme will begin at 9am on TUESDAY, June 29, and finish with lunch on FRIDAY, July 2, 2010


The aims of the assembly are:

to appreciate that commitment to and work for ecology is an integral part of the following of Jesus
to appreciate how our lives, hopes and even salvation are essentially bound up with the life, hope and salvation of all creation
to understand the contribution of religions to work for ecology
to understand the contribution of religious to work for the "new creation"
to share what congregations are already doing and investigate the future role of religious in working for the "new creation"
to plan future concrete actions we might take in building the Reign of God throughout all of creation

to present and discuss the findings of the survey into Religious life in Australia
to discuss what it tells us about the future of religious life in Australia

to make recommendations to the CRA Council


the keynote speaker will be 
FATHER DENIS EDWARDS
senior theology lecturer at the Flinders University School of Theology and the Adelaide School of Divinity
and prolific author on topics relating theology to science and ecology.
